Frequently Asked Questions

Banking

We offer banking services through our sponsor bank Services Credit Union.  They provide all of our members access to a deposit account and Visa Reloadable Prepaid Cards. 

Cards usually arrive in the mail in about 7-10 days after joining Cambio but it may take longer.  

If you haven’t received your card within 10 days, please email us at support@cambiomoney.com. We’ll make sure you get your first card no matter what.  

You can activate your Cambio Card directly on the app. On your home page under “My Routines”,  find the Routine called “Activate Card”. Then, just follow the on-screen instructions and you’ll be all set!

It’s easy! Just use one of CO-OP’s nearly 30,000 ATMs located throughout the U.S., the surcharge fee is waived. 

You can find fee-free ATM’s near you either in the Cambio app’s menu or bvisiting, COOP’s Website. 

Heads up, ATM cash withdrawals made outside the U.S. are subject to foreign transaction fees.  

Always select “CHECKING” when making an ATM withdrawal. 

Bring your cash to a Visa Readylink location and send it to your Cambio AccountVisa ReadyLink is a fast and easy way to load cash on you Cambio Card. Find a location near you via the Cambio App’s menu or visit the Visa ReadyLink Website.  Fees may apply based on the retailer, so always ask before loading money. 

We’re sorry, physical check cashing is not currently available with Cambio. This will be a benefit that will be available in a future version of Cambio. You can always set up direct deposit or deposit cash at a Visa Readylink location instead. 

It’s easy at Cambio! You can set up direct deposit in seconds directly in the Cambio app. All you need is your payroll provider account login information.  

Alternatively, you can set up direct deposit by asking your employer’s Human Resources (HR) department to switch your direct deposit.  If you are prompted to select a type of account, please select checking.  You will also need your Cambio account and routing number. You can find your Cambio account information by pressing on your user profile in the top right of the Home Screen. 

Yes, there is a balance limit of $5,000.  All direct deposits that make your balance go over $5,000 will be processed and a Cambio team member will contact you on accessing the funds.  All other deposits will be rejected (i.e. Visa Readylink, Venmo). 

Yes, there is a daily ATM or cash withdrawal limit of $300 per day. 

On the menu page select “Settings”, then “Change Pin”. Just follow the on-page instructions and you will be good to go! 

First, freeze your card in the Cambio App by using the “Freeze Card” toggle in the menu. Then, call us at 1-833-4250199 within two (2) business days and we’ll take care of it.

Absolutely! Your card can be replaced, and the outstanding balance transferred by calling 1-833-425-0199. 

A fee of $5.00 will be assessed for a replacement card. Please see the CUMONEY Everyday Spend Cardholder Agreement for any other applicable fees. 

No, Cambio will never overdraft your account. Instead, you can make a purchase with the remaining available balance on your card and pay the difference with another form of payment. If you do not have enough funds in your account, the transaction will simply be rejected.  

We recommend checking the balance of your card in the Cambio App before making a purchase and check with the merchant to make sure they can split the payment if there are not enough funds on the card to cover the full amount of the transaction.  

Yes, when making purchases at many retailers, such as grocery stores, select “DEBIT” and enter your PIN to request cash back as part of your purchase. Heads up! Some retail stores may charge a fee. We recommend asking them before making purchase. 

No, there are differences with how some transactions are processed. Merchants can process the card and request an authorization before the final purchase price is known. 

For example: 

  • Cards used at some automated fuel dispensers (gas stations) will automatically request and hold a minimum authorization of $75. 
  • Restaurant purchases are authorized an additional 20% to allow for tip. 

In both cases, only the final amount authorized by the cardholder will be deducted. Transaction amounts for all Visa authorizations will be held against the available balance until final settlement occurs, usually done within 3 days. Some transaction amounts for Visa authorizations at merchants such as hotels, cruise lines and car rentals can be held against the available balance for up to 5 days. 

Yes it is! With Visa’s Zero Liability coverage, you can shop risk-free wherever Visa Debit is accepted. You are not liable for unauthorized use on your Card. 

This applies only to signature-based transactions. Does not apply to ATM or PIN based transactions. 

Your card can be used for purchases wherever Visa debit cards are accepted. 

No, the Cambio card is embossed with your name and will only be accepted at merchants by you, the Cardholder. 

You can set up direct deposit or load money at local retailers like CVS, Walgreen and other Visa Readylink locations (retailer fees may apply). You can also transfer money into your account via popular person-to-person transfer services like Venmo. 

You can pay bills in two ways using Cambio. Both payment methods are free! 

Method 1: In-app: First, add your bill. You will need your account login information to do this. Then, you will be able to view, manage, and pay your bills on the Bills page. Press on the bill you’d like to pay and select “Pay”. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to pay your bill. (Not all bills are supported on the Cambio app).  

Method 2: Login to your bill account and find a payment option that allows you to make payments from a bank account. Then, find your account and routing information on your profile located in the top right of the Home page. Enter your Cambio account information and money will be transferred directly from your Cambio account to your bill provider’s bank account.   

Account

You can make changes to your personal information in your profile located on the top right of your home page. Choose “Edit Information” and confirm your updated information. A Cambio team member may ask you to verify this information.

Yes, you can use services like Zelle or Venmo by using your Cambio account information.  You can find your account number and routing number in your user profile located in the top right of your Home page. Transfer limits may apply, please check your P2P provider’s policies. 

Yes, you can access Cambio anywhere in the US. 

As long as you have a legal form of ID accepted in the US, you can become a member.  Accepted ID’s include but are not limited to: 

  • Taxpayer identification number (SSN or ITIN) 
  • Drivers License, State ID or Passport 
  • Alien identification card

We don’t use ChexSystems or do credit checks so anyone with the above forms of identification may access and use Cambio.

Rewards

Earning rewards with Cambio can help train your brain to manage your money better! Just log in and complete Routines. You’ll start racking up Cambio Coins in no time! 

Cambio Coins aren’t just play money. You can redeem them for real cash into your savings!

Q: What are Routines? 

Cambio Routines are activities and challenges you can complete in the app to earn rewards points (we call them Coins).  You earn Coins for things like making payments on essential needs (like paying rent/mortgage, paying for gas/electric, paying your cell phone, etc.).   

Cambio coins are equal to $0.01. It might not seem like a lot but over time, Cambio Coins really add up! 

In the app, press COINS at the top of the screen. From here you’ll find information on redeeming your Cambio Coins.  

Cambio rewards are built to help members save money. That’s why we only allow redemption of Coins once every 6 months. This allows you to build your savings in the form of Coins without having the temptation to cash out. Rack up enough Coins and you’ll be in for a payday!  

Score

Your Cambio Score measures four factor’s of your financial health.  

  1. How often you pay bills on time
  2. How likely you are to prioritize essential expenses 
  3. How much existing debt you’re able to pay down
  4. How much you are able to save  

The better you do in each of these areas, the higher your Cambio Score will be! Once you achieve a Cambio Score of 100, you can access different credit options from our network of quality lenders. Examples of credit you could access include, loan refinancingsecured credit cards, and much more.  

This credit is available to you but it’s your choice to utilize it or not. Don’t worry, you’ll receive guidance once you get there.  

You can improve your Cambio Score in a variety of ways. In the app, we guide you through all the actions you can take to improve your Cambio Score AND your financial health. These actions include:  

  • Paying bills on time  
  • Managing your spending well  
  • Saving money each month  
  • Paying down debt  

All of these things actions be done within the Cambio App using our powerful money and debt management features.  

You can access different types of credit from our network of quality lenders once you have achieved a Cambio Score of 100. If you complete all Routines and maximize your Cambio Score each month, you can access credit in as little as 6 months! 

No, the Cambio Score is a propriety credit score designed to help members access credit from Cambio’s network of quality lenders. Not all financial institutions will accept a Cambio Credit Score and it does not reflect any of your credit reports from the credit bureaus.
